My Service Canada Account (MSCA): How to access MSCA
Attention: If you're an Alberta resident, you can now use your verified MyAlberta Digital ID to register and sign in to My Service Canada Account.
3. How to access MSCA
To access MSCA, you must first request a Personal Access Code (PAC). If you've applied for or are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), or Old Age Security (OAS), an access code may have already been issued for you (need help finding it?).
A PAC is not required for Alberta residents using a verified MyAlberta Digital ID.
To access MSCA you need to:
Gather your personal documents and information
The PAC is your key to accessing secure online services. It is a seven-character code that will keep your personal information secure and confidential. A PAC is not necessary if you have an EI access code. Please keep it safe and do not share it with anyone.
To obtain a PAC, you must provide:
- your Social Insurance Number;
- your first and last name;
- your date of birth;
- your parent's family name at birth;
- your postal code if you are a Canadian resident; and
- If you are a foreign resident, please provide your country of residence.
If applying in person, you must also provide:
- a valid (not expired) acceptable proof of identity, such as:
- birth certificate
- Canadian passport
- certificate of Canadian citizenship
- certificate of Indian status
- certificate of registration of birth abroad
- driver's licence (provincial or territorial)
- health card
- permanent resident card
- provincial identification card
You will not be auhorized to request a PAC if:
- we do not have an address on record for you. Once you have updated your information with us, you will be able to request your PAC online.
- our records indicate that your PAC is disabled while requesting your PAC online. In order to access our online services you must contact us to obtain a new PAC by telephone or in person.
- a registered trustee, guardian or other legal representative is taking care of your financial affairs, that person is not authorized to use this service on your behalf. Your representative can make transactions on your behalf by mail, telephone or in-person.

How we protect your information
We do not share your information with anyone. Any information you give us is protected under the Privacy Act.

- We have a secure login process. To log in, you need a personal access code or an EI, access code. This lets us confirm your identity before you see any of your information.

Use only your own account
- Do not use MSCA on behalf of someone else
- You may only log in as yourself
- A registered trustee, guardian, or other legal representative can act for you in person, by mail or by phone, but not online
Keep your information private
- Do not share your MSCA username and password, EI access code or personal access code with anyone.
